Bi-annual blogging, Peru and data festivals…

So it’s been a while…

More than a while…

Nearly 3 years in fact… I really need to get the hang of this regular blogging thing! 😛 I even had some plans to use ChatGPT to help but… well… who knows maybe it wrote this for me? Hmm…

So what have I missed… I spent a couple of years working at, and co-leading the lovely and talented team at On Our Radar; and since handing over the leadership there I’ve been doing some technical judging for the Humanitarian Innovation Fund, delivering digital strategy workshops for UNICEF, advising some tech start-ups and doing some soul-searching on what my next challenge / opportunity should be (suggestions and opportunities very welcome, drop me an email ! )

Back in South America

So why not spend some time where my International Development journey began – Huanchaco – where I volunteered for Otra Cosa before my Masters degree. A small charming surfing resort in the North of Peru.

There are worse places to take stock! 🙂

Festival de Datos Uruguay

Conveniently, when I mentioned where I am to a colleague, they informed me that my old UN Foundation colleagues, the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data are holding their second Data for Development Festival – the last one in Bristol in 2018 was fascinating (conference report is available here).

This time the Festival de Datos is being held in Uruguay – and soon – November 7-9th!

Well it would be rude not to grab a cheap flight and see what’s been going on in the world of Data 4 Development and, aside from anticipating some very fine Uruguayan cuisine, hopefully catch-up with some old friends and colleagues and make some new ones.

Will you be at Festival de Datos in Uruguay November?

If so, I would love to find some time for a chat.

Drop me an email and let’s arrange something?
